The Exams Office offer their members a range of support for training their invigilators. This includes:

New invigilator training 

The Exams Office is offering members two free places at our certificated 'New Invigilator Training' taking place at 6 venues during the 2017/18 academic year.

Invigilator Training (in house)

The Exams Office ofers a certificated invigilator training session delivered in your centre by one of our trainers.

The following areas are covered during a four-hour session:

  • The qualities required to invigilate
  • The role of an invigilator & JCQ expectations
  • JCQ regulation changes for the current academic year
  • How to invigilate a reader, scribe, practical assistant and prompter
  • Preparing for each exam day
  • Starting the examination
  • Dealing with emergencies and irregularities
  • Dealing with malpractice
  • Ending an examination
  • Collecting the scripts
  • Supporting your exams officer

The cost of this training for members is:

Less than 25 invigilators - £195 (Non-members - £295)

25 - 50 invigilators - £345 (Non-members - £495)

The Exams Office is appointing 10 invigilator trainers across the country to deliver quality and cost-effective in-house invigilator training.
