Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full stack website developer to join a growing team at The Exams Office to work on all aspects of the business’s websites, portals and online tools.

The Exams Office, and its associated trading brands, supports exam officers working in educational establishments across the UK and overseas and specialises in using a series of on and offline resources, training, and other initiatives. The business operates in a fast-moving sector and has ambitious objectives for expansion into new markets. The right candidate will be an experienced full stack website developer who will support, build and develop a range of online tools and websites to help The Exams Office achieve its business goals.

Expert knowledge (2+ years commercial experience) will be required of ASP.NET, C#, MS-SQL and all associated web technologies (MVC, HTML, CSS, JavaScript etc) to help build full stack solutions, ideally to an enterprise level. Knowledge of PHP, MySQL and other online technologies would be advantageous but is not essential.

Work with server setup, database management, solution hosting and software development in a team environment would also be a useful skill set to possess.

With key involvement in the design and conceptual elements of the projects and responsibility for all code and databases through to delivery, the successful candidate will have complete ownership of their project space and will need to be able to manage their time and resources to complete tasks on-time and to an enterprise level.

The Exams Office will continually support the successful candidate and ensure personal and professional development to nurture a long term and successful series of tools along with personal working relationships.

The position offers up to 25 days’ paid holiday per year (initially 22 growing at a rate of 1 per year for each year’s service up to a total of 25), plus statutory bank holidays, and flexible working time based around core office hours of 10:00 – 16:00 at our IT team office base in the market town of Clitheroe in Lancashire.

The office is centrally located in Clitheroe town centre, so offers a wealth of amenities on its doorstep. Clitheroe train station is a five-minute walk away and operates a regular service between Clitheroe and Manchester Victoria via Blackburn, Bolton and Salford Crescent.

Should the successful candidate prefer to drive to the office, a free Ribble Valley Borough Council annual parking permit will be provided which can be used at a number of nearby pay and display car parks.
